]]> Reviews: Samsung 55 " LED HDTV Before I really start with this intro, let me get one thing off my back. Due to variances in identical panels we have found significant differences when it comes to comparing two HDTVs with the exact same product number. That is why this review will be based on my personal viewing experience of this Samsung TV over the course of the last 40 days. When push comes to shove, Im like the 90% of you who will be reading this review; I dont know all the technical terms for the prevailing technology behind this product and its settings, nor do I really care about them. What I do care about is that my hard-earned money was well spent on a product that will give me the best picture quality possible with a minimum of hassle. As such, dont expect any technical mumbo jumbo in this review unless it is preceded with a darn good explanation and be ready for a lot of subjectivity. Up for review today we have one of the latest and greatest HDTVs from Samsung which also sports an LED-based LCD panel: the UN55B7100. LED backlights are a relatively new feature on consumer-grade televisions but have begun showing up in greater numbers over the past few months. Basically, the use of LEDs allows manufacturers to replace the power hogging fluorescent lights in standard LCDs with a more efficient alternative. ]]> Sony KDL-40V5100 first look Sony's extensive LCD lineup includes a range of higher-end models, but the KDL-V5100 is not among them. This is Sony's least expensive series of 2009 HDTVs to include 120Hz processing, and it lacks the interactive extras and design complexities of its step-up brethren. It does include nearly all of the picture-related controls on those models, however, and its overall image quality is just as good. Naturally you'll still pay premium compared to bargain brands, but the solid performance and well-rounded, essential features of the V5100 series make it one of Sony's most compelling values. Design Judging from the looks of the KDL-V5100 series, Sony doesn't devote nearly as much effort to the external appearance of its entry-level HDTVs as it does to its higher-end line, such as the KDL-XBR9 series. The V5100 has a relatively chunky, squared-off, glossy-black frame around the screen, below which is a black strip that fades to a mirror finish, providing a minor accent. The area below the screen is further thickened by the horizontal speaker bar with a matte-black finish--a contrast to the hidden speaker popular on many other HDTVs. Sony does include a matching, square black stand, but it doesn't swivel.

]]> Sony XBR10 Review by Jordan KDL-46XBR10 I recently bought the SONY KDL-46XBR10. The XBR line is the highest quality of the SONY flat panel televisions. They began at XBR1 and are up to XBR10. Model 10 is the first TV to use LED technology which is a subset of the LCD screen technology which allows edge-lighting so that the screen can become a fraction of the thickness as compared to the previous generation LCD's. The super flat screen can be hung on the wall like a photo due to it's incredibly thin profile (depth or thickness). Less than 1 inch thick!!!
