Planer snipe often happens on boards where the front feed roller allows the piece to lift away from the surface platen slightly and be tipped up into the cutter head. On my machine it a signal of improper lube of the platen. It will cut perfect for 100 passes and then 5 of 10 will be sniped. I always leave a little extra on boards or panels. The table top is sacrificial on the MFT. It is for backing on the bottom to reduce fracturing and for breakage support.

What is planer snipe? And why didn't you hang the wood over the edge of your multi-purpose table and not cut into your table? Thank you
