No, unfortunately not. Your content needs to be 3D and then the headset detects it as a 3D signal. Otherwise it will just be watching regular content through the headset.

Thats actually a fun idea to test. Unfortunately i dont have a 3d cell phone. Also the phone needs to have hdmi out which i assume it does. Then you will still need to take the external box that comes with the 3d headset.

@arthur78 100% got it from Sony USA. Plugged into my home power source right now directly running 240V @ 50hz. You have nothing to worry about.

That's great! This is the first and only confirmation I could find anywhere on the internet that this has a universal power supply inside. Many people predicted that it does but nobody wanted to be the first to test it. Can you please confirm again that you bought this from the US (so it says 110V on the box) and it works on 240V without a voltage converter? Thanks!

As in for audio? There is no other output unfortunately for audio. I would also like to use alternate headset for audio. There might be a way for you to output audio track from the other HDMI out port - but that starts to get annoying.

The headset works on all units that output via HDMI. My headset is from Sony USA and I ran it via my Australian PS3 and Laptop.

Just received mine today so far it's awesome! Feels like your really watching a movie in the theatre. The only thing I'm focused about is that when I try to play 3D movies my PS3 is saying it does not support 3D and when I play games there's no sound.

I've been using it often and it seems okay. It may degrade your vision like all things (tv, monitors, displays etc) but I dont feel like its having any permanent effects at this time.
