XBR9 is like the updated version of XBR6. So XBR7 and XBR8 are better than XBR6 and 9's... I know it doesn't make sense but this is how it is...

Each backlighting system has different costs and benefits. The Triluminos system is a more expensive system to build than the wide color gamut CCFL used in the XBR9. Both sets are currently available and fill different needs along the picture quality scale.
