I remember when all TVs all had the same resolution and all movies were the same resolution. I kind of miss those days.

1080p is good, but it's already showing its limits, not in movies so much but in games! . 40-46" and down is ok for 1080p anything above that would be great for 4k .

With face tracking, the 3d should b viewable from almost any angle right?? So u don't have to b directly in front to get the effect.

With 8k video/television, you don't even need to have those cameras or whatever. It's supposed to be like looking through a window.

I think FullHD is enough at home for the next ten years. However... film postproduction should increase the resolution... For example IMAX films (70mm) should not be scanned 8K but 12k or even more

I don't care what 'experts' say about you won't be able to see any difference. I can tell the difference between a 1920x1080 and 2560x1600 PC monitor, let alone a 55"+ TV. I'm defiantly buying one of these bad boys for my HTPC..

4k tvs are ONLY good for 3D movies, they are not worth the money for a regular bluray! You wont notice any difference in quality unless you want a tv 70inches or larger. Save your money, dont bother buying one unless you can afford it, and rather have a tv that will be out of date in a few months, then get a new car, B) Your movies are all in 3D and you dont want to wear awesome Real D glasses like LG tvs require for glasses without batteries tvs (Circular Polarization the same RealD 3D)

4K is good for 3D bout the only thing, otherwise its not worth the money. No content is out at 4K yet. Any screen over 77 inches then 4K is great, otherwise theres no difference watching non 3D content on a regular 1080p screen. Reminds me of the Pioneer Kuro, everyone said it was much nicer and yet it only had a 768p screen, the contrast was awesome.

everything in japan is a little more expensive than the straight conversion so expect the 11,500 dollar conversion to be around 9-10 thousand dollars. Even then though....

i'd only buy this when it becomes mainstream given that standard 55 inch used to be over 8000$ and now it's only over 1500 :D
