I have this. My first one was while I was in high school back in 1993, it was a Casio portable color tv. Also ran on 4 "AA" batteries, and the antenna picked up all channels without needing an external one. I also have all the portable's tv tuners- Game Gear's, Turbo Express', even an import Game Boy Advance one, but alas all of them, even the amazing NHJ color tv wach I have, stopped working after that switch in 2009. This has been the next best thing to them- except the watch, that was COOL!!

Why didn't you order the proper adaptor for the antenna from Radio Shack?

lol, funny thing, I've only been with the company for about 1 1/2 year, and as of about 12 hours ago, I became a store manager =D

Yeah, I saw the TV you're talking about the other day too (160-1954) but my one complaint about it is that it DOES NOT run on "AA" batteries like this one does!! (160-0972 does) Ok, so I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag here. I'm ALSO a RadioShack employee. In fact, I'm an Assistant Manager and I've been with the company for 11 years now! This can still be considered an unbiased review, but that's why I didn't give it away in the video! ;^)

This is an awesome little TV. It has a very strong tuner and can pull stations that others totally pass over. Also, great speaker for a tiny set, and the picture is amazing. also. I have the bigger 7" one too, (equally impressive instrument) which included the antenna jack adapter that fits perfectly into the plug hole. I think it's strange there's no mention in the manual. Still, I'm very impressed with AUVIO, never heard of it until recently.

This is a great lil TV...I LOVE IT! Ever since I was a kid I've been using portable TV's. My favorite portable TV of all time would have to be the SEGA GAME GEAR with it's TV tuner attachment.
THIS Auvio TV is the only thing that comes close to my childhood experiences...
It's too bad analog ... More

It's too bad analog is a thing of the past, however this new digital IS NOT BAD if you give it a chance. (this TV will pick up on both signals...if they are out there of course) What I *LOVE* about this TV (and some of you might think I'm crazy) is the EPG it has going for it! THIS EPG ROCKS! Besides this portable TV I'm also an owner of a 52" Panasonic Plasma TV and the EPG on my 52" doesn't even come close to this lil guy! I wish RadioShack would come out with a 60" AUVIO TV, because if they put the same EPG in a 60" that they did with this lil guy I'd buy it in a heart beat!
By the way, my only complaint is that there is no external antenna jack or A/V input mode for the TV, BUT, if you know what you're doing you can access the test jack on the side of the TV...just be warned it's like messing with the ant test jacks on cellphones! (see my video) I had to shave away some plastic to get to it, but I use that all the time with an external antenna. I just wish it wasn't a test jack but a 1/8th ant input jack. Oh well, can't get everything right RadioShack ;^) Less
