Stereophile11 Says:
The Sony xbr8 doesn't come in a 52" version. I just got myself a few weeks ago a 52 Sony XBR6. ITS AWESOME!! There is also the Samsung A850 and A950. Samsung has a glossy screen. Sony has a matte screen. THE BEST TV BY FAR IS A PIONEER ELITE 50'' BUT IT'S PLASMA!

this one..
blackdragon1911 Says:
yes..thanks for showing us a still image rather then a moving one...very informative. It really highlights why I should drop 8 grand on it...
vj19912000 Says:
but i would still tell everyone to wait for the Organic LED televisions... those r gonna be amazing =]
vj19912000 Says:
the xbr8 is better... doesnt have a glossy screen so it gives a more realistic picture in both dark and light... but thee samsung has a glossy screen so it doesn't give you the same picture in thee light
SuMtOnE Says:
why wont they have a xbr8 40" ?
bhogala Says:
Actually the tv does 122% of the NTSC palette. The tv is absolutely amazing, and Sony has been doing the LED backlighting for a while now in their Qualia series. as far as Samsung goes with the series 9, its a single white LED backlight against sony's patented RGB LED backlight. Sony.Like No Other.

Samsung 650
FatalShot808 Says:
Very nice panel but that's no where in my price range. I'll probably get a 37" XBR6 or maybe a samsung..
KHWADI Says:
the Samsung A950 is on my list, but I will check out the new XBR8 at the Sony store here in NYC.

Hi Mayank, You'll be very happy with your new XBR6, it's a fantastic TV. In fact, we just finished filming a video highlighting the 46" XBR6. Look for it here soon. The XBR8 is truly a professional level TV with it's PRO features such as 3 color LED backlight, Anti-Blur, video processor, and local dimming. Of course, all this is reflected in the price, so it's not for everyone. Check out both TVs on Crutchfield, you can search for XBR6 or XBR8 to find all the details. Thanks, JR

"so is the XBR8 much superior than XBR8 series?" sorry, meant to ask, "so is the XBR8 much superior than XBR6 series?"
mayank444 Says:
The XBR8 looks pretty awesome. I JUST placed my order for the KDL-46XBR6 - so is the XBR8 much superior than XBR8 series? Though the XBR8 is out of my price range, how is XBR6 vs. XBR8?
crutchfieldtv Says:
The XBR8 is better than the Samsung A950, but I wouldnt say that its hugely better. We shot video clips for these Sony and Samsung models on the same day, so I got to see them almost side by side. Both are state-of-the-art. Our videographer was knocked out by both sets picture contrast and color accuracy. Since then, Ive spent more time with the Sony, and have been very impressed by its deeply saturated colors, as well as its exceptional ability to reveal detail in dark scenes. Steve K

I love this TV, but the price is so high. You can get the Samsung LN46A950 for abt $2900...is the SONY so good it's worth another $2100 on top of that ($5000 MSRP)??
NewPSCity Says:
LOL "Hi im steve". cool this tv is awesome.
