"Check signal cable" means that your TV is not getting a signal from your PC. Activate your PC's video output. See the Installation Guide on our website PCTVCables

Great vid! I've tried the paper clip, but the PC option doesn't light up. I have all the latest drivers for both my graphics card and BIOS. Do you have any idea what might be the problem? My laptop is a Dell Vostro 1015, and my TV is a Samsung LE32R73BD (Monitor Asset Manager says it's plug and play ID is SAM01FF).

This is great. Thank you. I am having the same problem with the check signal cable, but my laptop screen is flashing on then off in about two second intervals. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks-Sara

Check your TV user manual to see which resolutions it supports. Then change your PC resolution to match.

it says check signal cable !!! even tho i can see the picture perfectly . . how do i remove this ?
ptric102 Says:
If it is not recognizing your pc or laptop try going into your display settings, see if your pc recognizes the tv first. Select mirror image and most importantly play with the resolution settings. It will usually work if you put the res. Down a notch.

pctvcables Says:
There is no such thing as a VGA to HDMI cable. The two are not compatible.
pctvcables Says:
I don't think the cable length is the problem.
